How this free text to speech works
This demo uses exactly the same voices and smart reading as the VoiceoverWise studio. Your text is cleaned up first, so "$29" becomes "29 dollars", "2026-10-12" becomes "October 12, 2026" and "voiceoverwise.com" becomes "voiceoverwise dot com", then read aloud by the voice you choose. Nothing you type is stored.
Choosing a voice
Each voice has its own character. For explainers and tutorials, try Nova, Echo or Alloy. For ads, Coral and Verse bring energy. Onyx and Fable suit trailers and stories. You can hear a short introduction from every voice on the voices page.
What the full studio adds
- Scripts up to 20,000 characters (about 22 minutes) per clip, and bulk mode for up to 200 files.
- Seven delivery styles, slower or faster pace, and
[pause]markers. - A pronunciation dictionary for brand and people's names.
- MP3 and WAV downloads, SRT subtitles and commercial use.

Frequently asked questions
Is this text to speech really free?
Yes. No account or card. To keep it available for everyone, it reads up to 300 characters at a time and a few times per hour. A free account includes 10,000 credits every month for longer scripts and downloads.
Can I download the audio?
The demo is for listening and choosing a voice. Downloads (MP3 or WAV) with subtitles are available in the studio, including on the free plan.
Are these real people's voices?
No. All voices are synthetic, AI-generated voices. They are not copies of any real person.
Does it work in other languages?
Yes. Type in another language and the voice will read it in that language. Voices sound most natural in English.
